True story. I didn’t make this up.
Our office is used to be an old Japanese restaurant. When people visit the office, we usually would like to mention that due to the Eastern deco and design.
At the door, there’s a Chinese / Kanji sign with the word 摩耶 (Maya) on it. I’ve never spent the time to figure out if that is real Japanese character or just some Chinese or Taiwanese people ran the place and named the place 摩耶.
Today the true meaning of the word all of a sudden became a top of discussion again. Literal translation, 摩 could mean “Magic”. 耶 is a little harder to give it a meaning. Character wise, is a combination of two ear(s).
Nigel did a quick search on Wiki and found 摩耶 is also the name of a WWII Japanese Cruiser. Well mystery is solved and that’s pretty cool and all…. Then all of a sudden Wayne mentioned: Today, Aug 6th, is the Hiroshima Anniversary.
Now that’s pretty creepy.
Yes my dear, AAPL set a new 52 weeks high on the stock market today. Close at. It went up 11.2% percent today alone. Should I stay or should I go? Buy low and sell high is the way to go, and the new price target is @100. Makes you wonder.
So today I received this e-mail newsletter (aka spam) in my Inbox. I was socked. I couldn’t figure out if the person in the picture is a woman or a man. What’s wrong with the hair? What’s up with the scruffy face but with the makeup? em… I am confused.
I think this is a legit Microsoft newsletter as I examing the e-mail header and the links.
Well, I guess the designers over at Apple are having fun with their new dashboard app screenshots…
Check out the actual stock price. That’s pretty bias don’t you think? So glad YHOO is not on their “watch list”. The turth is, we all do goofy things in our design… It’s just a matter if you can catch it. 😉
Might as well, damn it… 4th post of the day. I am actually on deadline with my work stuff… but this is a good way of breaking up my work… haha… tell that to people that I work with. 😉
The Exorcist in 30 Seconds (with Bunnies). Pretty cute.
